Mental Age

A few days back, I turned a year older. I added another year to my age and as always, I sat back to ponder… is my mental age catching up? I still feel like I am in my twenties. I sometimes have nightmares about taking exams. I am still amazed at how much my daughter has grown and how fast she is still growing. Amongst all this, my body feels the fatigue but my mind does not.. well, maybe I don’t look like a twenty five year old but feeling that way comes pretty close! What say?

  1. I do a reverse calculation when someone asks my age, my mental state stopped growing somewhere in between though. 😀 Hope you had a wonderful birthday 🙂

  2. I stopped counting my own age after Dhruv was born. As you have discovered about me, I am a 4.7 year old mother, going to turn 5 in a few months and therefore I exhibit maturity of a 5 year old 😀

  3. Happy belated birthday. This is perfect — my mental age does not match up with my actual age. I often will feel as if I just graduated college and then realize… I’ve been out for almost 20 years!

  4. First off, I am surprised that you’re NOT in your twenties! I definitely would’ve pegged you as 25-ish, if you’d asked me before this post (and, actually I still would).

It’s strange how we stay at a certain age in our heads. I’m eyeballing 51 this summer, but I’d swear I’m still late 20s, early 30s (although my kids would say I have the maturity of a 5 year old *grin*). Belated happy birthday – I hope all your birthday wishes come true!

  5. I guess its all about our attitude and how we feel about ourselves…Yes, body does have it’s own way of aging, but aren’t those exercise meant to keep you young? Happy Belated birthday!

  6. I think I am much younger in my mind too but I stress like an old lady. Ithink I am not clear which age group I belong too. I speak like an older person, behave like a child and age is between these two ages.

Hope you enjoyed reading this post. Let me know your thoughts :)
