My first FOTD – Inspired by Mehak

Mehak of Peaches and Blush did a fab tutorial on dewy makeup. Dewy skin has always awed me and I have always been jealous of those with supple glowing cheeks. When I read mehak’s post today, I realised I could try this out. So, I did and I am not brave to put up before and after pics so just a few of them go here…

So, what do you guys think? I feel that I need to good concealer and that I should stick to matte. I skipped powder and compact and my skin was oily in less than 30 mins. Sigh, the dewyness isn’t for me…

I used Lakme Perfect Radiance foundation, Colorbar creme compact as concealer, Colorbar Radiant Glow Highlighter pen, Oriflame visions mascara, Lotus kajal, Nivea lipbalm in pomegranate and ULTA lipgloss in nude.

  1. @ Ankita, those are some good ideas… thanks :)i think i will add highlighter to the foundation… oh and the mist… definitely on… i tried with a murad mist today and it did help! 🙂

  2. You looking pretty Anks!I think to prevent oiliness and yet achieve a dewy look- use some cheat methods like powder highlighter on high parts of the face, don’t skip your compact and perhaps mix some thing containing fine shimmer particles like Streetwear crystal shine moisturizer (Rs 360) or Oriflame peach TM with your foundation. The light refection from the cheekbones etc will give a faux-dewy look. And if you’re really keen on skipping compact, apply it just on the centre of the face- foreheard, nose, chin.

  3. now when u have got so many suggestion i wont give more suggestions ..u look fab in the first pic and in the second oiliness is there..

  4. 😀 Try MSF.. and Ankita (Corallista) just reviewed the TBS facial mist. sounds very similar to fix+ try both at the store and pick what you like. 😀

  5. @ Ik, thanks for the recos… i wanna try fix+ coz of all the wonderful things i have read abt it and the MSF… think i shud use kuhu’s bday as an excuse to get them… 🙂

  6. Hey! You look really nice in the first pic up there, but in the 2nd pic I can see the oiliness climb up.. Can I give you a suggestion, I think you need a foundation with more coverage, you know, rather than a concealor. So that your entire face is one shade. I think once that falls in place, you will be able to achieve a dewy look.

  7. 😀 I knowww I am super scared too!!:|

I use my cream foundation, the Mineralize spf15 MAC thing.. or what I usually do is I use the MSF Natural and use a cream blush.. I use the Maxfactor cream blushes which leave a very shiny face.. but since I am dry skinned it looks dewy. after this I spray fix+. that usually helps. and you know what, since you’ve got oily skin.. of all this I think you should try the MSF natural. wont make it oily since it is a powder and it leaves a very nice dewy finish. just try it cause I’ve also heard its not that great for oily skin.. so I dunno.. 😐

  8. Wow! you are looking very very pretty, Ankita! I just went and read the rebonding post, and your hair is looking fab too!:) You’ve certainly achieved the dewy look!:) Kudos to Mehak.. I have dry skin and always want the dewy skin.. which I manage!:D oh and i just saw blog!!:)

Hope you enjoyed reading this post. Let me know your thoughts :)
