Winter in Dubai is a magical time of year and I’ve been lucky enough to experience it first-hand. Parts of the city transforms into a winter wonderland, complete with fake snow, festive lights, Santa’s Grottos, outdoor movies, and all sorts of family-friendly activities. I’m sharing my own experiences and was pleasantly surprised to learn that there is so much more to winter in Dubai than just shopping and dining. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, there are plenty of budget-friendly activities that are perfect for families and kids. From boating adventures in Hatta to birdwatching at Al Qudra, and a festive Christmas celebration at JBR, I’ve explored it all and there’s something for everyone. And yes, you can make your winter in Dubai memorable for your kids without breaking the bank!

Take your family on an adventure in the mountains with a trip to Hatta. Rent a boat and have a blast in Hatta Dam, surrounded by stunning views of the mountains. After the boat ride, head over to the Swan Lake and admire the graceful swans and ducks swimming in a quaint little pond. With food, drinks, and activities for everyone, everyone is sure to have a great time without breaking the bank.
