Windmill Festival Mumbai

Windmill Festival is happening in Mumbai on 16th and 17th December at Jio Garden, Bandra Kurla Complex. This is the second season of the festival. Till recently, I did not know about such. festivals and some big ones, I did not really bothered about taking my daughter to those citing reasons of crowd and chaos. My opinions changed when I experienced first-hand how much fun she had at a similar festival a while ago. I realised that these are good occasions to get the kids out of home, restrict their screen time and let them experience different, fun activities!

Windmill Festival is a two day children’s fest that will appeal to kids of all age groups. They have curated over 50 workshops in 4 key areas

  • Arts
  • Sports
  • Music
  • Science

They have divided the activities based on age groups like 0-3, 4-7 and 8-14. Event Capital and Tribe Asia have come together to bring the Windmill Festival to Mumbai and as per Swaroop Banerjee, CEO, Event Capital,

“The concept of Windmill Festival is something you’ve never seen in India before. We have curated over 50 workshops for children to sample robotics, aeronautics, comic book making, puppetry, storytelling, pottery, charcoal painting and so much more. We want the child to discover his/her innermost passion and work towards developing it. In addition to the workshops, we have a music stage with performances curated for families. We also have a first of its kind petting zoo where children can pet farm animals.”

Which brings me to a unique attraction of the festival – a petting Zoo. As city kids, we rarely get to see animals beyond a few strays and pets. This would be a good opportunity for them to see farm animals up close.

In addition, the Windmill Festival will also include, various play areas, a centre for robotics, a curated section for art, craft, science, sport & music workshops, a concert arena, a sports arena and for parents needing a bit of help with the young ones, a day care centre. It promises of celebrity studded performances by singers Arjun Kanungo, Darshan Raval, Akasa Singh, Bhavya Pandit, Vipin Heero and Raaga Trippin and Rob from MAD as well as toons from Sony YAY! Am looking forward to a fun day outdoor with my daughter. If you guys are going to be there, gimme a shout out and I would love to meet up!
