This Mother’s Day, be a Meal Mate to another Mother with JAMMs and Accesslife

Being a mother is joyous, wondrous, beautiful… everyone from mainstream media to hallmark cards will tell you this. But, being a mother also tough. There are moments of frustration that everyone has. However, the mothers who have it real tough are those with sick children. For a mother, a short term sickness, where you know the child is going to be okay in a few days can be disheartening. I can’t even imagine how tough must it be for mothers when their children are diagnosed with a long-term sickness or worse a long-term, life-threatening sickness? Something like cancer. It can take such a

Drape A Smile – A JAMM’s Social Initiative

JAMM’s now brings Drape A Smile – their fifth Social Initiative. After Step Up and iLight, they are now collecting 910 saris to commemorate the 910 days that JAMM’s network has been in existence. I am sure that like me, you too have some saris tucked in to the back of your closet or under your bed that are rarely ever used. We don’t wear saris all that much these days and then there are those saris which were gifted to us and not quite our style, or we have newer, trendier ones to sport on those rare occassions that we

An Evening with a Mentalist

I was invited by JAMMs to attend a show by Roy Zaltsman – a renowned Mentalist this week. When I Googled for Mentalist, I found the following explanation: A Mentalist is an individual with highly developed intuitive and mental abilities. I have seen tonnes of TV shows featuring Mentalists but come on… You don’t believe everything you see on

Mothers Day Out – at KidZania

KidZania is a role play based indoor activity centre for kids. It allows children to participate in various activities and experience being an artist, a pilot, a dentist, a fireman or even a dabbawala! The Mumbai centre was running a promo on Mother’s Day. As a special treat to the mommies, they were allowing the mommies to participate in activities with the kids. They invited a few Mommy bloggers to participate in the celebration by becoming an intern with their child and assisting in the activities. When Ritu reached out to the JAMM’s group with the invite, I leapt up

Help Tiny Feet Walk – with Step Up

JAMM’s is a Mumbai based parenting support group. Every year, they take up a social initiative and this time it is Step Up. Before  I tell you about step up… think about this…. How many pairs of shoes do you own? How many pairs of shoes does your little one own? How many pairs of shoes are kept in your shoe rack, untouched for ages? Now add up the amount of money you spent on these shoes. Keep that figure in mind while you read on…. Village children between 6 to 10 from the Mulshi Taluka in Pune, namely Aandhale,
