The Predicament of Night Time Sight Seeing

Whenever I travel, I try and go out in the evenings to see the sights the place has to offer. Usually, such trips allow me to see some beautiful city sights and very nice lighting. There is only one challenge – night time photography! If you are into photography, you’d know that night time clicks are hard. Years ago, I had a Point and Shoot camera that was okayish for night time shots. Ever since I graduated to a DSLR, I have not mastered the art of night time photography. Thus, on trips like these I am dependent on my cell phone for night shots. If I am travelling on a 2-3 day trip, I don’t usually carry my heavy DSLR. My phone suffices my photography needs for daytime. The evening and nighttime are another matter all together! Like most cell phones, my trusty camera fails in the low light 🙁 Sometimes I am able to click shots of the sights but if I hand over my phone to someone and ask them to click, the result usually is a blurred mess…

How often I have wished that I had a better phone camera… and then heard that Asus Zenfone 2 is a new smartphone that boasts of a great low light camera. I was excited and read up a little more. Turns out that it has a PizelMaster Camera (Best low light features) which has a special low light mode that offers upto 400times brighter pictures. Through a combination of adjusting the pixel size and image-processing algorithms, Asus has increased the light sensitivity by up to 400%, enhanced noise reduction and boosted color contrast by up to 200%. The sensor’s larger photoreceptors and wide-aperture f/2.0 lens gathers more light, allowing finer details to be captured. ASUS PixelMaster cameras integrate five brightness-enhancing lenses for excellent optical performance and distortion-free photos.

Check out the promo video below. Does’t the birthday capture look amazing???

If I had a low light camera as good as this, my sightseeing pics would have been so much better looking!!
