Recounting My Dental Health Journey with Colgate

It all began one fine day when I got this lovely hamper from Colgate. Along with the goodies inside, which I will tell you about shortly, there was a shocking elevation.

This reminded me of my own experience with Aryahi. We too discovered her cavities very late when she was little. I suppose this is because the kids, especially young ones aren’t able to understand or even express the issue clearly. This makes early detection very tough. We chatted about it on Instagram and surprisingly, Aryahi’s dentist saw the post. He responded to a fellow mom’s queries. His point was clear.Regular dental checkups are a must in young children. In fact, even Colgate believes so. They sent me 5 cards for free dental checkups. I sent a couple of them to my friends. One of them who got her son’s teeth checked. She is very particular about what he eats but was shocked to learn that even her son had the beginnings of a cavity. She was dismayed and promptly began to research on what went wrong.

After reading tons of material and speaking to her dentist, she realized that simply avoiding junk does not guarantee healthy teeth. She needed to add calcium rich food in her son’s diet. I told her about the new Colgate strong teeth. New Colgate strong teeth with Amino Shakti gives 4X Strengthening Power and it’s unique formula helps add natural calcium to your teeth through remineralization process, strengthening them from within. Have a look at this video to know more.

We both agree that good health includes good oral health. If you have strong teeth, you will enjoy all sorts of food. Yes, even a little bit of junk food as an occasional indulgence. After all, kids do deserve their occasional treats. Don’t they? In fact, when Aryahi had her cavities, a lot of foods and treats were banned. She still can’t have sticky toffees at all. Or molten chocolate or éclair pastries. You get the picture? She complained that with all these restrictions, she feels like a sick person. She was curious about what can make her teeth strong and I told her about hygiene and calcium rich food. She remembered this  and was happy when Colgate sent us the hamper full of calcium rich food as well as the new Colgate Strong Teeth. Have a look at the goodies we got!

To conclude, I will quote the dentist I went to as a child. His simple rules of dental care were:

  1. Don’t eat too many sweets or chocolates. Eat in moderation.
  2. Rinse your mouth after eating anything. For adults, even after tea and coffee
  3. Brush your teeth twice a day and brush them well
  4. Get dental checkups done regularly That’s it. Easy. Aren’t they?

  1. Brushing is an important activity but so is eating the right amount of nutrition. While I am taking care of the nutrition portion, I am struggling to brush Aarnav’s teeth. Scared that he might get hurt but also scared that if I dont brush he may get cavities. Colgate is a no 1 company when it comes to dental care. They have amazing toothbrushes and toothpastes for kids. And it was very thoughtful of them to send calcium rich food in the hamper.

  2. Brushing and oral health is very important and kids now a days rely so much on good toothpaste, good brush etc. All things their fav then it’s hassle free..loved the post.

  3. Besides food, the way you brush your teeth is also important. Most kids are taught to brush hard which is wrong. We over brush and that leads to loss of enamel.
Teeth need to be brushed but gently. And rinsing after every meal is a must.

Hope you enjoyed reading this post. Let me know your thoughts :)
