A Blogger’s Dilemma #MicroblogMondays #MondayMusings

I am drawing an absolute blank today. Usually, I have lots of things to say. As I look out of my window this morning, I can see and hear the traffic and not the greens or the birds. There are things on my mind today but I am at a loss to say anything about anything in this blog post.

I was looking around twitter hoping for inspiration when I cam across someone talking about top tweets. I signed up with MyTopTweet and this is my top tweet in the last 3200!

It has been shared a total of… wait for it…. 13 times….! *drumroll*

For someone who spends an awful lot of time on twitter, this is pathetic… isn’t it? I love twitter for the engagement but have come to realise off late that it is not doing a lot for my blog traffic. Sharing a post on Facebook in random groups gets me more traffic than this. However, there is no engagement there and it feels so mechanical. And now I don’t know what to do… to tweet or not to tweet?

  1. I tweet for answers to questions (or sometimes just search Twitter to see if people are already talking about a topic), but I don’t go into Twitter with any other expectation. I think it was a good place for traffic at some point, but now it has become so loud that it’s impossible to catch all the tweets as they go by.

  2. People esp blogger shy away to RT and respond to other bloggers on twitter.. You need to break that chain and starting RTing others and so on…I am sure they will return favor…if not whole desh ki junta, may be at least good handful with wider reach 😉

    Symbiotic life

  3. I tweet, unless Twitter is in the midst of full-blown crazy over whatever, and then I take a break. I’ve mostly decided it’s luck of the draw on things like viral content. Most following me were trying to get follow-backs and definitely aren’t paying any attention to what I say. 😉

  4. I have a love/hate relationship with Twitter (okay, all social media). And for not knowing what to write, I’d say you did a fine job. Love the picture of you too!

  5. Folks are stretched over too many platforms; traditional blogging, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Pintrest, Snapchat, and more that I probably don’t know anything about. So many lanes.

  6. Twitter is very fickle, as is Facebook. Some posts get lots of likes/retweets while others get ignored. My two cents? Stick to being genuine and see what happens. Slowly, you’ll build traffic. Count on it 🙂

  7. I think it is a case of blogger burn out or too much end of year festivities. Strangely even I didn’t know what to write about today despite being inspired last night and early this morning!

Hope you enjoyed reading this post. Let me know your thoughts :)
