Drama #AtoZChallenge

A to Z Challenge 2019

In everyone’s life there are people who cause drama. If there are none in your life, consider yourself lucky! I mean it.

A lot of self help books and Internet memes I came across talk about cutting out people who spread negativity in your life. But you know what, sometimes that is not possible. Not every person can be cut out. If the source of your drama is your neighbour, your boss, a close friend, it is possible to do something about it. You could change jobs, move houses or just stop talking to the friend. But what if it is a family member? What if it is a family member living in the same house? You can’t just sever that relationship. Right? You have to address the situation and make changes. I know it is easier said than done. Some relationships are so fragile they break with strain. The others, can get worse and remain so.

Or you could revel in the drama. Let’s face it, things would be pretty boring without it. I do think however it would not be possible to revel in it if the drama is solely aimed at you. I would rather take the high ground and ignore it. Yes, it would take a great deal of patience to do it but at least I won’t contribute to it.

What do you guys think about the drama queens in your life? How do you deal with them? And more importantly, are you one?

  1. Honestly the one causing drama in my house was my ex, so I DID get rid of him and have been so much happier! But otherwise, it’s been friends who are too much drama or too demanding, so I’ve stopped contacting them, and usually the relationship ends because THEY never contacted ME, it was always me reaching out. So the problem kind of solved itself.
