Being a mother is joyous, wondrous, beautiful… everyone from mainstream media to hallmark cards will tell you this. But, being a mother also tough. There are moments of frustration that everyone has. However, the mothers who have it real tough are those with sick children. For a mother, a short term sickness, where you know the child is going to be okay in a few days can be disheartening. I can’t even imagine how tough must it be for mothers when their children are diagnosed with a long-term sickness or worse a long-term, life-threatening sickness? Something like cancer. It can take such a toll on the entire family. Add to it the stress of finances and you are not in a good position. Amongst all the joy today, let us be thankful for what we have. Let us be grateful for our lively, happy children and let us try helping those who need it.
Helping someone does not have to mean doing something very big. We can help out in small ways and be part of something big. An initiative, I joined was Meal Mate with JAMMs.
What these children need besides treatment is also adequate nutrition to help boost their immunity and combat the illness better. As part of this initiative, JAMM’s network has collaborated with Accesslife to ensure that these children get their fighting chance and the necessary food nutrition through 1100 Meal Mate. JAMM’s network will have been in existence for 1100 days and this initiative is a marker in its history of giving back to society.
