The Month That Was – August 2015

August 2015 was a month of changes. To begin with, we moved homes. That set the tone for what was to come next – a crazy whirlwind of activity! My daughter fell ill as soon as I moved to the new home. Once she was better, we set about resuming our routine. To beat the Monday Blues, I decided to blog diligently every Monday. I had been doing Microblog Mondays for a while now. In addition, I started submitting my Musings to Corinne’s Monday Musings as well. As if these two were not enough, I started a participating in Mundane Monday by PhoTrablogger. Incidentally, it was PhoTrablogger’s one year anniversary and book launch yesterday. You must head over there and read the awesome post he wrote thanking all his readers. I am sorely tempted to do it. 😛 I am also attempting a Throwback Thursday series where I republish posts from my ten year old blogging journey 🙂 I would also keep adding pics from the past in this series so I hope you guys find it fun!

The second big change in August was my blog template. I had been toying with the idea of updating the look of the blog for a while and I finally took the plunge! I did a post about my blog makeover and got a lot of positive views and some suggestions for improvement. Thank you to all of you who gave me feedback on it 🙂

August was also a month of firsts. I attended a Chef’s Table for the very first time. Met a lot of awesome food bloggers and reconnected with my buddies Disha and Divsi. Disha had curated the Chef’s table and we had a lovely time. If you are in Bandra and are craving Mediterranean food, Eat Pray Luv is a must visit 🙂 Another first that happened in August was that my posts made it to top slot on Indiblogger!! It gives me a little thrill every time I get one of those little badges from them 🙂 Oh and speaking of Indiblogger, I won a contest there! It was another first and a Big one at that. If you are active in the Indian blogging community, you probably know about BNLF – Blog Now, Life Forever! IB was running a contest, the reward of which was an early bird pass to BNLF and guess what, I won! I was so excited when the results came out, I could not sleep.

Blogging wise, August has been a GREAT month. In addition to all that I old above, a few more good things happened

  1. I was featured by Cee on her blog for participating in the Black and White flowers challenge.
  2. I guest blogged twice. Technically, that was the end of July though!
  3. My post on Mid Life Crisis and Snail Mail crossed a 100 page views.
  4. I was interviewed by a Women’s webizine Smart Indian Women
  5. I attended a fantastic event called Divas Meet
  6. I wrote a short story

So that was what my August 2015 looked like. I published a total of 27 posts which I think is a great achievement for me. In September, I am challenging myself further by signing up for 2 blogging challenges. One of them is the September Challenge by Everyday Gyaan and the second is the 30 day blogging challenge by Sarah Arrow. So hoping for a super September.

I want to sign off by thanking each and everyone of you for visiting and reading my posts. I blog for self expression but you guys keep me going! Thank You!

Thanks
